Better than expected

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Suite

This was our first cruise with Carnival and I had low expectations based on feedback from friends. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the Inspiration. The ship was clean and the rooms were nice with plenty of closet/drawers. We had a suite with a balcony and it was very nice and spacious for our family of 4. The dining rooms and buffet were very clean and well appointed with excellent food. The wait staff was attentive. The swimming pool is WAY too small for this size ship but the waterpark for the kids was an excellent alternative. Plus there are only 2 hot tubs which were usually filled to capacity with children.

Pros: Plenty of activities for adults and kids; good food; friendly staff

Cons: Not enough time at first port of call

Recommends Carnival Inspiration? Yes!

Ship Quality
It's an older ship but well cared for
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
The comedy shows were wonderful! Family karaoke was a real hit with us too
Food and Dining
Excellent choices on the menu; poolside grill was wonderful. The desserts were disappointing as they were too fancy for most children to try.
Children's Programs
My 8 and 11 yr old children were thoroughly impressed by the amount of activities offered in the kids club. The staff was attentive and pleasant and knew my children by name almost immediately
George Town, Grand Cayman
Excellent tours to Stingray City and Coral gardens for snorkeling. Tour staff was SO friendly and the excursion was priced reasonably for the service received. The tour guide even dove for an empty conch shell for my kids to take home!! The only down side was that we were only in this port for 4 hours which isn't NEARLY enough time to enjoy such a beautiful place
Don't Miss: Stingray City
Cozumel, Mexico
The snorkeling at Punta Sur Ecopark was like an episode of National Geographic!! It was unreal! The tour guides were friendly, informative and very timely throughout the Jeep/Snorkel excursion. The Mayan ruin at Punta Sur was quite small and disappointing though it's history was interesting to the adults. The shopping at the pier was very good as well. We are definitely going back to Cozumel!
Don't Miss: Snorkeling at Punta Sur
