Discount Cruise is not Good News

Sail Date: September 30, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Although a clean ship, it is ten years old and in need of a major update. The ship was so cold that crew staff wore sweat pants and jackets (extememly cold in the library and Paris Theater). There is not a comfortable chair to sit on in any lounge if you want to read, and no lounge chairs on the Promenade Deck so to relax away from the Pool Party atmosphere. I've been on 20 cruises and found it almost impossible to find my way around this ship, even after 5 days. These 4-5 day cruises are best for first time cruisers who want to see if they enjoy the experience, and for those who wish to party all day and walk around inside the ship shoeless & bare chested, and with a bottle of Budweiser in their hand 24/7.

Pros: Time at sea-Clean ship-Friendly staff-Reasonably good food

Cons: Freezing Cold Ship-Very little lounge entertainment-24 hour party time

Calica, Mexico
As you are not allowed to walk into town (which is much to far actually to walk, it cost $12.00 each way to get into town by taxi. There should be a shuttle service offered by the town or Carnival. There is nothing really to see in town but a small grouping of shops, and you are verbally hassled by store owners every minute that you are walking around amongst the chickens.
