The Inspiration was an excellent ship. As always, the Joe Farcas designed rooms are an adventure in themselves. The overall entertainment was good but on this cruise, the material for the production shows relied too heavily on glitz and not enough on substance. The history of Rock and Roll for a show is now over the hill, and the Caribbean Show, although better than the rockfest, still missed the mark over shows that I have seen on other Carnival ships. The food on the ship was good, but evening meals in the dining room were hit and miss. One member of my family had to try three different entrees on the last night of the cruise just to find something he actually liked; however, on four of the seven nights the dining room entrees were very good. The stewards, waiter, etc., were excellent. They were extremely friendly. The ship was decked out for the holidays with the same decor that I have seen on other Carnival Christmas cruises, but I think things are looking a little tattered. It's time for some new trimmings. The crew of Camp Carnival deserve a medal for trying to entertain the over 600 unruly children aboard. Too bad that many parents have lost control over their kids. Many preteens were running wild, destroying property, etc. at two o'clock in the morning. Where were the parents? Perhaps asleep, dreaming that their child fell overboard! Yes, folks...the kids were that bad on this cruise. I am sure that the children aboard ruined a lot of people's cruise, and Carnival needs to beef up its security to catch a few of these monsters in the act or they'll be losing customers big time! It's a shame that the many well behaved children aboard have to be ranked with these brats. This is my last Christmas Cruise with Carnival until I hear that they have taken control of their own ship. PS...the last night of the cruise security appeared to have arrested four pre-teens and several people in the atrium actually applauded! The Inspiration: excellent ship and staff, but before you sail, check to see how many children are aboard!
