Great Cruise, Service Awful

Sail Date: December 08, 2007

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Inside

The ship was comfortable, clean, well-staffed and had many activities all day and night.

Pros: Personal Service by Ship's Staff

Cons: Service by CruisesOnly - paperwork foulups, agent unreachable when needed. Ship was great, travel agency the worst we've ever used!

Recommends Carnival Inspiration? Yes!

Ship Quality
Ship was great. Clean, comfortable, fun.
Food and Dining
We enjoyed the food very much - each meal was excellent.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our bed was large and very soft and comfortable. The shower had plenty of water pressure, and boy, was it hot! We had plenty of room to store all our gear and hang our clothes.
Service and Staff
We enjoyed our wait staff, Carlos and Laszlo very much. They were very efficient and personable. We had a drinks waitress named Kadek who impressed us all with her ability to remember our names and the kinds of drinks we liked, even when she was serving us in completely different areas of the ship! She was very efficient and friendly, doing a thankless job in a very graceful manner. Hats off to her!
Entertainment
We had a lot of fun with karaoke, we enjoyed the shows and the comedian, the reggae band on the deck was fun. I would love to have played some of the trivia games, but they seemed always to be at times other things were going on.
Children's Programs
My little niece and nephew loved, loved, loved Camp Carnival. They loved the activities and the staff. They had a fabulous time. Our friends' teenage sons had a blast with their age activities. They were gone and busy from morning till late at night, we would pass them going by in a group, obviously having great fun.
George Town, Grand Cayman
We didn't have enough time in this port to do more than shop a bit, although my husband and daughter did a snorkeling excursion. I bought some rum and some souvenirs that were at a very good price.
Calica, Mexico
Calica is just a dock. You have to pay to go elsewhere. We went to Playa del Carmen, which was nice enough, but we live in Florida, and it honestly wasn't a whole lot different. The water was ice cold (it was December, after all!). We enjoyed wandering around the shops and stuff, but most of them had the exact same things. We didn't eat there as we were concerned about getting "turista". We did have wine and beer at a little restaurant/bar on the beach, which was nice. There was a nice little park by the beach where the kids could play.
Don't Miss: The beach
