Wonderful FunShip Cruise!!

Sail Date: October 28, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We were first time cruisers however we went with 2 other couples that have done it before.. Well we will definately do it again and on the Inspiration. We did the Halloween Cruise which was so much fun. You couldn't do all the things there was to do on the ship unless you could clone yourself. All the staff were outstanding, especially our dinner servers Carol and Lizette who are both from Peru. The shows were of professional quality and the costumes, choreography and the dancers and singers were excellent. We had 2 different comedians who performed a show and then a midnight adult show they were hilarious.
All in all the best vacation I have ever taken and I am glad that we experienced it and we are already talking about taking the Halloween Cruise next year on the Inspiration, the Cruise Director Resa made sure you know why they call Carnival the Fun Ship.. We all 6 of us would highly recommend sailing on the Inspiration it is smaller than a lot of the fleet and older but is in as good a shape with very little wear and tear on the inside of the ship.. We laughed so much in 5 days I am actually hoarse..Had a Great time!!!

Pros: We liked everything about the cruise especially being able to eat when you are ready.

Cons: Very little time on some of the shore excursions.

Recommends Carnival Inspiration? Yes!

Ship Quality
Very little wear and tear on the interior, public areas very clean, decor was nice but we didn't have anything to compare it to but we liked it.
Food and Dining
WOW!! anything you could want, 2 main formal dining rooms early and late seating, then the Lido deck 2 different serving lines and by the pool the had hamburgers, fries, hot dogs and desserts were another WOW you can try all the different desserts you wanted so we would all get one and then a couple for all to try.
Cabin / Stateroom
Clean, good beds and there was plenty of room for 2 people with a king bed, desk and chair with a small table, however the TV reception stunk, I like to watch it just before bed and catch the news but very bad reception and they had two movie channels but they too had poor reception.
Service and Staff
AMAZING!! couldn't ask for better service it was like they were Steppfords.. All they wanted to do is make sure you had a great time and didn't want for anything..
Entertainment
All I can say is WONDERFUL!! can you tell we had a great time? Shore excursions would have liked more time in Grand Cayman only 4 hours there was more to do there and didn't have much time, Calica's port was a rock quarry.
Children's Programs
We didn't have any children with us however there were a lot of kids on board and you only saw them at mealtime. If you have kids Camp Carnival takes good care of them they are and keeps them entertained.
George Town, Grand Cayman
We didn't have much time there..
Don't Miss: Marguarittaville we had lunch and bought a few souveniers.
Calica, Mexico
We went into Playa del Carmen and did a little shopping the excursions were kind of pricey..
Don't Miss: Playa del Carmen had some nice shops further from cab drop off zones.
