Review summary
This being my fifth- 4 day cruise it is my favorite short getaway. Also a great way to introduce you to making cruising a vacation option. The Carnival Imagination was recently renovated and I was pleasantly surprised with the decor and comfort of the staterooms. We did choose the "your time dining" and were advised to go early because there could be a wait. You do get a buzzer which lets you know when a table is available. The food was above average and we did have entertainment at two of the meals. We were celebrating an anniversary and were served a cake and a free photo. Catalina is always a great place to visit and the tender was great carrying many passengers which made the trip easy even for us seniors. For a dollar we could take a city bus which took us into the center of town and at the end dropped us off at the dock to get our tender back. Ensenada is typical for a Mexican port much larger than I remember and too many shops to take advantage of you if you are not careful. My complaints...bring a sweater because most of the rooms including the cabin are too cold. The entertainment was awful the main show (2 nights) was too loud with no particular talent. A magician who was an amateur and fair comedians. disappointing....have seen better on most ships. Service was great and would recommend to friends with fair warning..do not get scammed in buying shoe inserts.....after presentation....
