Great Family Fun

Sail Date: July 07, 2016

Reviewed: 11 months ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Oceanview

This cruise is great for first time cruisers, families with kids and couples who want to take a quick romantic getaway. I have been on this cruise four times & I'm looking forward to going again!

Cabin / Stateroom
Our family of four fit comfortably in an ocean view room with a king bed & bunk beds.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
We purchased Faster to the Fun passes , so our embarkation & disembarkation process was quick.
Ship Quality
Thanks to Joe our stateroom steward!
Destinations and Excursions
The excursions offered by Carnival are overpriced! If you take the $2 shuttle at the dock & go into town, the excursions are more than half off the Carnival prices. The excursions in Mexico have to be paid in cash, so there is no way to prove to Carnival that you received a cheaper price. Anyhoo, these are the costs of the excursions, if you decide to buy them when you get to Mexico.
ATV -$40/pp
La Bufadora - $15/pp (Be sure to go to Havana Banana & take a picture with the baby tigers.)
Horseback Riding -$20/pp
Onboard Activities
Fun activities offered, however the ethnic diversity in the lead roles was pathetic!
Children's Programs
Miss Mermaid (I think Janea is her real name) was great with our children while they were in the Ocean's Camp. The activities were well planned and most of them were free! Our kids really appreciated the souvenir t-shirt & backpack that they were given on the last day of camp.
We were disappointed with the lack of ethnic diversity in the lead roles of the shows. We left in the middle of the Divas show, because of the lack of diversity.
Service and Staff
Our stateroom steward, Joe, constantly kept our room clean & was always pleasant and polite.
Food and Dining
Our waiter in the Spirit Dining Room was Ace. He was attentive, fast & fun! He was also a great dancer!

Be sure to eat in the assigned dining rooms. The courses that are served are amazing & the strawberry bisque is a must try!
