Problems boarding

Sail Date: July 25, 2011

The ship was very clean and the staff were helpful. We experienced a problem with boarding at the Key West, due to airport delays, and thus were charged an adittional three hundred dollars per person for boarding at this location, This put a damper on our exprerience. Our family had been told excellent things about carnival cruises, and this cruise was a graduation gift for our daughter for graduating first in her class. It was somewhat of a dissappointment due to the unexpected expenduture and a necessary change of destinations. Due to a storm system we were unable to dock in Cozumel, Mexico and were rerouted to the Bahamas. My daughter and her father had schedudled an excursion of snorkeling in the Bahamas, but inclimate weather caused the excursion to be canceled. We did enjoy the shopping at the port, but the things our daughter had most wanted to do she was unable to.

Pros: Friendly andd helpful staff

Cons: Paying an additional 900 dollars to board because of an airport delay (Jones Act)

We would appreciate any assistance with getting a refund for the 900 dollars we were charged to board the ship in the Key West. We were scheduled to boatd in Miami, but delays in American Airline travel kept us from our scheduled departure.

We were charged for boarding in the Key West, due to a delay at the airport. We really didn't have time to site see in this area.
