Good First Cruise Experience

Sail Date: October 11, 2010

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We recently cruised on Carnival's Imagination for our honeymoon. The overall experience was a good one, although we had to re-route to Bahamas instead of Cozumel due to a hurricane :( . The ship was in great condition, very clean and well maintained.

Pros: Fine dining's food, the Deli and Cabin space and oceanview window.

Cons: Constant cigarrette smoke smell in the cabin.

Recommends Carnival Imagination? Yes!

Ship Quality
The ship size was medium and user friendly layout to go about one side to the other. Public areas well very well maintained and the outlets were very accessible.
Food and Dining
The overall dining experience was the best part of the cruise. The buffet had daily options for all specialty diets, the deli was great, the dining room's food and service was excellent. The dining times were normal and very accessible. Alcoholic beverages were a bit pricey.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had an oceanview stateroom with king size bed. It was very spacious and the bathroom as well. The downside to it was the continous cigarette smoke smell, especially at bedtime. I had to call several times to refresh the room due to my asma condition. If it wasn't for this, the overall stateroom quality would've been perfect.
Service and Staff
The staff was friendly and corteaous, espcially the forma dining room's staff, who went above and beyond with special food orders.
In regards to entertainment, the cruise offered the usual cabaret style shows, but the best option was the midnight comedy stand up show. On the other hand, although they had a daily entertainment itinerary, we rather chose to rest in-room or at the pool.
Key West, Florida
This is a fun relaxed city with much shopping options, with a couple of tourist traps of course, but overall very nice to visit for a couple of hours. Since it was raining, we didn't do much. But appreciated the walks on the famous Duval Street and grabbed a beer in Hogs Breath Bar & Restaurant.
Don't Miss: Hemingway's old house
