The evening wait staff worked very hard to try to please us, even with mediocre food. It was not nearly as good as I remember from my previous cruises. The crew assigned to our cabin was virtually perfect. The dealers in the casino were delightful.

The daily Horizon buffet for breakfast & lunch was horrible--lots of unrecognizable food swam in gloppy sauces. One day the smell of turning salmon killed my appetite. But the maitre'de of the Pride Dining Room was even worse--he refused to consider a complaint I had that we were denied appetizers on our first day because we were late, but on the next day a group of 8 women were served a full meal despite their being as late as we were the day before.

The entertainment was very average for the first main show but significantly improved on the second.

We signed up for this cruise late so we were stuck with the first seating which was early for us. Next time we'll try to get in the 2nd seating--a far more civil time for dinner than 6:00. While the buffet food was subpar, the evening dinner service was far better.

Rain kept us on the ship--wish we had weathered the storm and ventured out anyway.

Hemingway's house and the walking tour were excellent and most informative.

Pros: dinner wait staff

Cons: buffet and maitre'de
