Fun 1st cruise

Sail Date: May 24, 2008

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The ship was very nice. It made me think of Las Vegas, though, with the way it was decorated. There were lots of things to do on board and the crew really wanted to make sure everyone had a fun time. The food was excellent and the service in the dining room was great as well.

Pros: Activities, ship crew, excursions, service, food

Cons: Not prepared enough for Jamaica, cheesey decor throughout ship

Recommends Carnival Imagination? Yes!

Ship Quality
Good size. The room, despite being an interior room, was quite spacious. The decor was a little cheesey, to me, but it was maintained well and looked sparkling new.
Food and Dining
Very good food. Lots of variety. Dining times were good.
Cabin / Stateroom
More spacious than I was expecting. The bed was very comfortable. Decor was simple, but very nice.
Service and Staff
Everyone was very nice and there to make sure everyone on the ship had a good time and was comfortable.
Entertainment
Lots of things to choose from on the ship. The shore excursions were nice, too. Although, in Jamaica, I would suggest not really talking to any of the locals if you aren't really interested in spending a fortune on worthless knick-knacks. They can be very pushy and sneaky. But that is not connected to the quality of the ship and their activities.
George Town, Grand Cayman
Very nice place. Beautiful water. Lots of places to shop. We did snorkling at the reef and with stingrays. It was very interesting and the snorkle guides were very nice and helpful. Bring an underwater camera to capture all the beautiful scenery.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
We went to the Dunn's River Falls. It was very fun. You actually climb through the waterfall. It's not hard. There are lots of picture opportunities throughout, so bring a camera. Watch out for someone with a polaride camera. He'll charge you $8 for one picture. Not really worth it. Also be careful when walking through the market after the waterfall. People there are really sneaky and will try to get money out of you in any way possible. We also went to the Bamboo Beach Club. It was nice. Beautiful beach and a nice place to relax after climbing through a waterfall. The food and drinks were very good, too.
Don't Miss: Jamaican shopping
