The Carnival Imagination was a ship which would be a good experience for elementary-school-aged children. The water slide was great for all ages, however there was not enough night life for those of use who are old enough to imbibe. Many times, it was difficult to understand the staff members due to their accents as well as their decreased understanding of the English language. Staff members also were not able to answer questions, requiring the inquiry of 2-3 staff members to find out answers to simple questions (ie: how disembarkation works). The information desk staff never smiled, made it clear that the guest was interrupting their day, and there was always a line in front of the desk because only 1-2 staff members were there at any given time. Our room was always clean, and the steward/housekeeping staff was excellent. Carnival's private island was excellent, however the food there had been reheated at least twice, leading to almost inedible food. Finally, the shows produced by Carnival were excellent, with excellent dancers and Adage.

The water toys were an excellent experience, allowing us to spend the entire day in the water. Food was terrible, as it had been reheated a number of times.

Don't Miss: Margaritaville

Pros: water slide, steward, cleanliness, Half Moon Cay (Carnival's Private Island), shows (dancers)

Cons: food, language skills of staff, knowledge of staff regarding events happening on the ship

Recommends Carnival Imagination? No.
