Carnival Imagination Cruise Review

Sail Date: May 10, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Oceanview

We felt as though there was little for our 12 and 13 year old to do. The activities planned for that age were more appropriate for children much younger; all four of our children said they were bored. The one thing that was keeping them busy was the pool and that was closed the night before we got in so it could be cleaned for the next cruise. Totally displeased with that whole deal.

Pros: The beds and the bedding were dreamy!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the food awesome!!

Cons: The pool was closed the night before we docked in Miami so it could be cleaned for the next cruise; one night out of 5 is 20% of our cruise! That is totally unacceptable.

Recommends Carnival Imagination? No.

All four of my children were bored.
Children's Programs
The programs for the younger kids seemed to be right on target but from age 7 up, the activities were not age appropriate or interesting. We would definitely not choose this ship or ever recommend it.
Cabin / Stateroom
Having the overhead bed on the opposite wall as ours made maneuvering around the room impossible when the bed was out. Cleanliness was superb.

George Town, Grand Cayman
Everything was hurry up and wait. We never got off of the ship until mid morning, then had to sit and wait for over an hour for the right tour guide. We chose Seven Mile Beach with Transportation, and by the time we got there we had to stay on a specified part of the beach and only had a couple of hours before we had to go again. Four cheeseburgers cost $50.00! Oh my word! Not impressed with the Caymans; dirty, unorganized, rushed, never again.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Dolphin Cove, specifically the guys doing the shows, was awesome!!! The women were all quite unpleasant, what is up with that?
Don't Miss: swimming with the dolphins
