Great time!

Sail Date: September 06, 2007

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We were told the ship is getting 100 million dollars in renovations in October, which she needs. Nice ship, just worn and outdated in some areas, especially our room! We did enjoy having a window this time, instead of the inside stateroom we had last time. I thought the pool was very small for the amount of passengers, it was always crowded. The hot tubs in the Spa didn't work, one was empty and the other one was cold. The gym was nice. The Horizons grill was always crowded, dirty and had a bad smell. The food was cold and the cookies they had were hard as rocks! Definitely would recommend eating breakfast, lunch and dinner in the formal dining rooms, the food is much better! The pizza was pretty good, although a few times we didn't eat our slices, because they were under cooked.

Pros: Dinners in the Spirit Dining Room, Jorge the cruise director and the shows at night

Cons: Food in the Horizons restaurant, especially the desserts. A lot of the food was cold.

Recommends Carnival Imagination? Yes!

Ship Quality
We couldn't understand why they made us eat in the Spirit dining room and not the Pride dining room, which was right near our room. So we had to walk all the way across the ship, had to go up a level, across and then back down to get to it. Very inconvenient!
Cabin / Stateroom
Pretty old and outdated. The carpets were dirty and the bathroom was pretty gross. The vanity mirror was just about broken, the sink was all chipped and worn and the shower didn't drain very well, so we always had to make sure not to leave anything on the floor, otherwise it would be soaked by the time we got out.
Food and Dining
The dining room food was always great and our waiter was funny and provided great service!
Service and Staff
Entertainment
The shows and comedians were really fun, they did a great job!
Calica, Mexico
We went horseback riding, and on the ship it said if you were experienced, you could pay extra and go on a separate ride, and when we got there, they told us no, it was a walking tour only, so for my husband and I, it was pretty boring. I would have much rather gone on the ATV/snorkel excursion, everyone who did that had a blast! Then our van broke down while bringing other people over, so we had to wait over an hour for it to bring us back to the ship.
Key West, Florida
Unfortunately when we took the catamaran out to snorkel, the water was very choppy which made it hard to snorkel, but the ships crew was great, the music was awesome and all the drinks you could possibly want! Lots of fun!
Don't Miss: not sure, we only had time for the catamaran and snorkel and then quickly ran through some of the shops to buy a few souveniers, then had to take the trolly back to get back on the ship.
