A very enjoyable cruise.

I was very happy with the ship. I have gone for both short and long cruises with Carnival and the ships for the 7 day or longer cruises are much larger and more lavish than those that they use for the 3 or 4 day cruises. But knowing that ahead of time kept me from being a little disappointed. This ship is still very nice. Service was very attentive. Food was uniformly excellent. Entertainment is of high quality and professionally done.

Pros: Food and entertainment were reliably excellent each time. The formal dinner in the evening is not to be missed. Whether you like to pick reliable favorites or something you've never tasted before we had no mediocre meals. Entertainment is professional quality and enjoyable.

Cons: We did find that twice we went to hear piano music and the musician did not show up in the venue as scheduled.

Ship Quality
The ship was clean and well maintained. It was a little older and less lavish than the ships Carnival uses for it's 7 day or longer cruises, but I was still very satisfied.
Food and Dining
I was very happy with the quality of all of the food venues. The evening formal dinner should never be missed. Lunch on the Lido deck has many varied selections and amazing desserts. Breakfast is quite satisfactory on the Lido deck but you won't find anything new or exciting.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had very adequate space. It was well maintained, beds are comfortable, pillows and comforter are of higher quality.
Service and Staff
Calica, Mexico
Took our own cab ride into Playa del Carmen, only cost $10 per cab. Cab driver had almost no English and just let us off at a random spot in town. We could find no beach lockers so ended up carrying our beach gear while we shopped. Plenty of rental umbrellas and chairs on the beach. Nice white sand beach but a little crowded.
Key West, Florida
Enjoyed the historic trolley tour, gave us a good overview of the entire island and interesting background. Shopping is good. Key lime pie was excellent at the upstairs cafe, think it was called "cafe under the stars". Good shopping area, compact for walking.
