Review summary

After saving for this cruise for over 6 months if I could do it over again I would not. Very disappointed in the whole experience. Have cruised before. Things have changed for the worse. Maybe if you’re not use to nice things and friendly people you would enjoy yourself.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Very easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Guys burgers and pizza were great. Buffets were cold and boring. Mediocre quality. Closed often. Dining room started out ok but got better. Wait staff in dining room great and sea day brunch great. I feel like they skimp on buffet and dining so you’ll spend more at paid restaurants.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots to do on board at all times.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Pier pressure band was the best on board and the guitar player at pig and anchor was enjoyable. Also kedroy In piano bar was lovely. Violin girls also amazing. 80s party’s (yes there was more than one ) was fun but songs repeated. Shows were ok. Overacting but good singers and dancers. Shows were boring and confusing.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Teen enjoyed O2 however placing right next to the casino was a little odd. Kids walking in and out. Inhaling second hand smoke.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Wait and bar staff were the best. Room Steward was horrible. Saw him once gave him $20 and asked for fresh and extra towels daily. Did it first day and didn’t see him the remainder of the cruise. Not helpful in navigating just stood by watching. Looked as confused as we were. Woman at cake station gave you a filthy look if you ordered more than one slice. Since it is so crowded there many people get a couple for their table. Food in Italian place and Mongolian good free for lunch but sits right under basketball court.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Nothing exciting as far as wow factor but very clean. Extremely hot. Rooms and hallways seemed like air was odd or broken except for an occasional hits of cool air. No straight runs through. Many times had to go up and down a flight of stairs just to get to the other side on same floor.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Standard cabin. Comfy bed. Small bath. Not enough space. For 4 people one of us had to keep clothes in suitcase. Never seemed cold enough.

Ship tip

Not to!

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

1 out of 5
Pretty. Did not venture inland. Beach at port was pretty and convenient but crowded and Rocky.

La Romana, Dominican Republic Did not visit port

Did not seem appealing

Willemstad, Curacao

3 out of 5
Not impressed. Rude vendors. A tropical dumpy city.

Oranjestad, Aruba

4 out of 5
Nicest of the ports. Beautiful Eagle beach. Friendly taxi service.. fair price.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Easy

I have to agree with WileyE- that was just a rude statement. I have seen people who have a boatload more money that appreciate the “finer” things in life with a lot less than what you get on a ship. If this was not the cruise line for you, then cruise on a different one- but do not put down other members because they may not be as accustomed as you are to the grandiose in life. It’s all in the eye of the beholder- it’s what you think or feel that it is and you need to understand that another person who has a different opinion than you may not be too much different to your social standards. By saying that other members are not accustomed to the finer things in life- you just insulted many (including me) on here. Just an FYI- I am accustomed to finer things in life- but I can also find joy in more simple things as well.

We're with you JT1962, as long as we're not the ones doing all the work , it would take a lot for us to complain

I am generally not a complainer but I stand by this review. I do not think I should have to flag down or call my room steward to do his job. This is an expensive vacation and I value our money spent. I would not have come to simply complain, but I do feel like this was a fair assessment.

This is a newer ship and majority 4 to 5 star reviews. I don't think it's fair to say that all those 4 and 5 star raters are not used to "nice things and being around nice people". I'm sorry, but what a rude comment.

Cruising has changed over the years, but we still love it. Cuts have affected some things, but if I’m on vacation and not the one cooking and serving the food, cleaning the room, making the bed, etc., then it would take a lot for me to complain.

The room steward has a number for u to call why did you not .. Or call the housekeeping supervisor it would of been done with or without the tip .,, Why come back and complain?
