We used FFTF for the first time. WELL WORTH IT. We were on the ship in 20 minutes. No lines for us

Food and Dining

We had the drink package. This is a must if you drink 5 + drinks a day. All drinks are $10 or more per drink so you get your money worth. Bartenders Rini and Brighton were awesome!!
We booked a dinner in the Emerald Steak house online on Carnival's website in February. I realized I had not heard from the Steakhouse (they usually send an invitation the morning of your reservation) and I couldn't remember what time my reservation was for. I called up to the steakhouse and they had no record of my reservation. Luckily I printed off my reservation and had it with me. I took it up to the steakhouse and they fit us in (table for 2). They put us in the worst seat looking at the water slides and kids running around watching a movie. Food was fantastic in the Emerald dining room.
In the main dining, one evening our dinner took so long to serve that we missed the show. Too bad. Food was good but service was slow.

Food was excellent! Worth the extra $35/person.
The steakhouse did not have our reservations - made online in February for an Aug cruise. They said they could not squeeze us in until I brought up a printed out confirmation email that Carnival sent months earlier.

The bartenders here really knew what they were doing! I wanted an espresso martini one day and she had me go over to the coffee shop to get a fresh shot of espresso and made a fantastic espresso martini in seconds.

Brighton was the best bartender! Great place to catch up on the scores and sports news.

Bartenders Rini and Brighton were great!
Service was just ok in main dining room. To me they seemed to be understaffed or constantly in the weeds. Not typical of Carnival.

This was my third Carnival cruise and I found our room to not be as clean as our previous. Towels and sheets were stained some days, some times I had to call to get extra towels. Our room did not get turned down the first night.

Balcony! It's a must! Enjoyed the view everyday.
Very close to lobby elevator which made it very convenient to drop something off quickly on the way to an activity. This may not be the best room if you like to sleep early because you can hear the party in the lobby but it was great for us.
Did not have an excursion, just walked to the fort. Very close to port. Great coffee shops, places to eat and small shops to peruse. People were very friendly. I felt that I did not have enough time here and would like to go back to explore for a few days.
Turtle Cove Snorkel - great time! Captain Jolene and her crew were wonderful. Island still recovering from hurricane damage so being out in the beautiful water was the best place to be.
