Sold out, Crowded, Staff Overworked

Sail Date: August 01, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was crowded. Completely sold out. Fillled with people from New Jersey who had a lot of words they needed to get out. 900+ kids. All public spaces jammed. Few activities. Events were loud music.

Pros: Getting off the ship.

Cons: The ship

Recommends Carnival Glory? No.

Ship Quality
As compared to other crusie ships we've been on\, the public spaces on this ship are smaller than other ships. For example\, the gym was very small. Little space available. Similar to small gym in cheap hotel.
Food and Dining
The food was good. But the lines were long\, the buffet was a mess\, there was not enough staff to clean tables\, no staff walking around to check on things. Wait staff seemed not highly experienced\, as compared to other crusie ships. Overworked and tired.
Cabin / Stateroom
Room was high quality\, very functional. Everything worked properly. Good storage (suitcases easily fit under bed\, bathroom had lots of storage options).
Service and Staff
All staff overworked. Very young looking ship crew.
Poor. Ours was 5 night cruise. There were only 3 shows (big production...) for 5 night. The show for one of the nights was delayed\, start and stop due to technical problems. Shows were very loud ... too loud musicals. The lesser attractions no better. For example\, the comedians show was 30 minutes and very tired act. There were no special shows on board\, no talks. One 3 play card for BINGO cost USD 30. That's for a USD 600 payroll. Completely sad.
Children's Programs
Our 13 y/o pariticpated in some activities. Well done.
