Our first cruise experience

Sail Date: July 26, 2012

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship seemed huge at first but soon felt very small. If you don't gamble and you don't like to sear in the sun, then the size of the ship suddenly shrinks for you.

Pros: Relaxing experience\, loved St. John\, NB\, and loved the Emerald Steak House

Cons: The food\, i.e.\, buffets and the Golden Room dining experience.

Recommends Carnival Glory? Yes!

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
The 8:15 seating in the Golden Room had adequate food\, nothing special\, not enough selections\, and the staff barely spoke English. We dined in the Emerald Steak House for our last night and it was exemplary in every way. The food was top notch\, the wait staff was of a higher caliber\, and the atmosphere was perfect.
Cabin / Stateroom
I know this isn't the ship's fault but our balcony was infiltrated by smoke from both sides\, the passenger to our left smoked cigars and to our right it was cigarettes. They quarreled\, spoke loudly\, and used profanities. It was less than peaceful. Otherwise the size of the balcony room was a nice surprise\, overall comfort and condition was better than expected.
Service and Staff
The head steward\, Marvin\, was very personable and helpful. The room was always clean and we were well cared for.
The comedy shows were funny.
