decent cruise, problematic execution

The ship is fine, but nothing remarkable. It's pleasant, reasonably clean, and the staterooms are pleasant. The low rating above is more related to the execution of the cruise itself--it was a string of problems including sailing out a day late due at least in part to avoidable factors (they forgot to plan around whale migration patterns), arriving late to every port (causing excursions to have to be shortened), and lackluster service on-board, esp in the dining rooms. You can still have a good time on the boat, but it won't feel like a special experience. We probably won't sail with Carnival again based on this experience.

Special plug for Peggy's cove at Halifax though--gorgeous. would have liked to spend longer there!

Pros: peggy's cove, halifax

Cons: boat left a day late. lackluster service.

Recommends Carnival Glory? No.

Ship Quality
Odd quirks. For instance, no mini-golf after 5 pm (although sunset wasn't til past 8 pm) because it is near the specialty dining steakhouse and it's "too loud" for the diners. Ditto the basketball and volleyball courts. Not a crazy rule for the latter sports, but kind of unfortunate to have sports stuff right next to the steakhouse then. Otherwise, generally fine.
Food and Dining
Food sometimes not hot anymore by the time it arrived. Generally tasted all right. Awesome frozen yogurt. Servers universally a bit rough around the edges in terms of how they handled dishes, orders, conversation, etc.
Cabin / Stateroom
The cabins were well laid out. Bathrooms are well-designed so they don't feel as cramped as in other cruise lines. Nice wide hallways for people in wheelchairs. Bring your own shampoo and soap--the stuff provided is very industrial. It is nice that they have hairdryers in the suites though.
Service and Staff
need more exercise class options. maybe line dancing or other dancing, zumba, etc. yoga only offered during days in port, which is when people are typically OFF the boat. evening entertainment had lots of options, quality was average but we had fun at these events.
