7 Night Exotic Western Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)
Sail Date: March 22, 2008
Ship: Carnival Glory
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Family (older children)

We wanted an alternative to turning our twin 17 year old and 15 year old boys loose on an unsupervised trip. We found the perfect solution on the Carnival Glory. They made many friends and had a great time without too much interference from Mom and Dad.

The excursions were fun and everyone had a great time. When polled, they'd all to it over again.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Dinner was the only time we made sure everyone was together. Our head waiter, Lim, was simply the best. However, the food itself was good but not great.

Ryan, Ryan, dandelion and his crew kept us enterained throughout the cruise. The only downer was a completely unfunny comic on Thursday night. We made every show.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Our kids were right in the O2 age range and had a blast 24x7. The staff kept everyone in line, removed those out of line, while making sure the guys had fun.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff from the stewards to the captain were all terrific. They certainly went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Most impressive.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Glory is a mega ship. It's five years old and is in great shape.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had two balcony rooms that were better than we expected for first time cruisers.

We did the Blackbeards Beach Party (or something like that). You'll want to skip the "deluxe" version that includes lunch and drinks. The lines were long and the food was average. The time on the beach was really cool as a sting ray swam by without our having to fork out more money for the Sting-Ray experience.

We just wandered around shopping. We grabbed some jewelry (silver), cigars (Cuban), and T-shirts. Lunch at Las Palmeras was good with the Magaritas just what the doctor ordered.

We didn't really visit the port, but went snorkeling over the Barrier Reef. The surf was a bit choppy, but the coral formations and colorful fish were worth seeing.

Pros: Good, safe atmosphere for teens. Something for everyone.

Cons: Food in main dining room was just okay. Drinks a bit pricey.

Recommends Carnival Glory? Yes!
