This was my best friends first cruise. And we loved it we had the best time ever. Ever thing went smooth and great. The only problem we had was with the pick of the liquor at the end of the cruise. I think they need to figure out another way of picking it up at the end of the cruise. That was a disaster but all in all recommend this cruise so mush fun.

I feel like I left a lot of negative comments but we really had a great time, and would do it again.

We are avid cruisers. This was the first time on Freedom. Love that we didn’t have to walk as much as on the bigger ships.

Just came back and already planning the next cruise. So relaxing and stress free vacation

We love cruising. There is so much to do if That is what you like or just relax if that’s your thing. We love all the shows and the atmosphere was fun and enjoyable.

Wewelllll I’ll be retiring in Belize lol it was great with the experience vacationing in the summer with a lot of kids never again those kids were so disrespectful and bad. I think parents should be in better control.

The best vacation in a lifetime! A must do. For families of all ages. Anything and anyone alike.

My wife and I are fairly seasoned cruisers- we’ve been on many carnival cruises and I’ve never given below a score of 10, unfortunately we were expecting more from the newly released from refurb, Freedom. 1st let me start with the smells. Like I mentioned we are seasoned cruisers and we know the smell of sewage exists here and there on every ship once in a while, however on the freedom it was constant. We smelled it in our room, in our friends room, when the doors opened on the Lido to go inside that big waft of wind you usually get came along with the pungent odor and several times in the dining room. 2nd was the 3rd floor Lobby. The smell of smoke was overwhelming, I was confused by how the smell could be so overwhelming for the first 2 days until we were waiting in line for dinner one evening and I noticed people and employees leaving out of the side door which is a smoking area, every time the door opened, the 25 people who were smoking, their smoke blew straight in and literally filled the lobby with every person opening the door over and over to enter and leave. I am by no means hating on smokers seeing how I used to myself for many years, however after open heart surgery last year I am extremely cautious and unfortunately this must not be a big concern for carnival. Also the shows never change - love and marriage show - same show, every ship and the same goes for all the shows, once you’ve seen them, you’ve seen them and we’ve been cruising carnival for years and still the same shows. I hate to say this but we usually plan our next cruise on our trip back home after we get off the ship. We usually take 2-3 cruises per year. After this cruise we literally did something we thought we’d never do. We made the decision to try Royal Caribbean. I hate to say it but carnival needs to change it up. We are avid Disney fans because they are consistently changing things up - I mean ice carving and hairy chest and mixology contest are fun we’ve enjoyed them but we’re on our 10th round of the same tired things. Sail away party... almost identical down to the songs played every single time. You never know we may try royal Caribbean and hate it and be back but unfortunately due to what I would consider “the beards” keeping the ships on cruise control and not changing it up, you may have lost a family. I mean change it up carnival for goodness sake - think of new shows and new games to be played or your younger crowd like us will lose interest! Also do your homework and look at my past reviews- literally every single one are 10’s this is the first time we were smacked in the face with the sheer lack of change.

We missed the port of Mahogany Bay due to hurricane Michael but captain and crew kept us safe and informed of all decisions made to keep us safe and away from the storm. We have already booked our next Carnival cruise on the Freedom for next year!

This was our first, but not the last cruise! We were so happy with this one that I am looking for the next adventure with Carnival!!!

So much to do one the ship! It was an awesome experience as usual with Carnival. The Steak House is a must at least once. The cruise director Malcolm was great as well. The only thing I would change would be making the cabin a little cooler, we brought a fan and that helped a bunch.   

Very pleased with staff our room (8406) was always clean by the time we entered in the evening...loved the comedians they were aeesome but malcom was hillarious everytine we saw him....so much to do i dint even think we did everything...I cant wait to cruise again!!!

Everyone was friendly, the service was impeccable. The cast for the various shows was outstanding. The cherry on top was the cruise Director Malcolm.  Booked another cruise on the Freedom. Thanks for the best time ever.

It was so much fun to see the kids having a blast and all the shows were great! We really enjoyed it! My husband would have liked more adult friendly entertainment that was not centered around drinking games and partying, guess we are more middle aged parents lol! 

We love Carnival, and are loyalty members. We even have stock in Carnival. We loved the Ports of Call, and we had a good time with dinner partners. The comedy was excellent. Our disappointment was with the staff of this particular vessel. We had old open milk cartons from previous guest in our room refrigerator as a greeting. One of the staff who lead a majority of the trivia games was so stuffy and serious, he took a lot of fun out of the experience. However, Tommy was terrific when he did the games. We will return to Carnival,  because we believe it was not a broad Carnival experience, but a management of Freedom problem. LOVE Jamaica. Snorkeling in Grand Turk, and shopping in Cozumel. (Well, shopping in Jamaica was a must as well.) No problems large enough to take our smiles. We like the food and selections. I know that some people complain, but I eat all the shrimp that I can get my hands on during a trip. I would go again, but may select other vessels when possible. They didn't even have our VIFP pins. That's a small thing, but it's a keepsake that has meaning to us. VERY disappointed in the lack of preparation. It's not like we jumped aboard and they weren't aware of the passenger count! Love Guys Burgers, Swirls, and main dining.  

Had a really great time on Carnival cruise.  A large group of us go each year.  They are so accommodating to get us a table together.  Key West is excellent each year.  Bahamas is fun in the sun and beautiful beaches.

2016.First cruise with the kids and first cruise leaving from Galveston. Since then, we always leave out of Galveston. We stay the night before at a hotel on the beach, leave the vehicle parked at the hotel and take the hotel shuttle to the ship. So easy. Love it.

I think the trick to cruising is to start on a smaller ship and work your way up.  Having previously been on the Carnival Conquest (sister ship to the Freedom) and then on the Carnival Magic, it was a disappointment being on the Freedom.  The Magic is much newer and bigger and more to do on board.  The Freedom felt like a step backwards.  Part of the cruise excitement is to explore the ship.  Once you've been on one class of ship, the other sister ships are basically the same.  I was not impressed by the Key West, Freeport, Nassau itinerary on this trip.  Key West was nice and clean and we did a snorkel excursion which was nice.  There wasn't much else to see beyond the port tourist traps.  Freeport Bahamas is a real dump of a port.  It is located in a shipping area.  The island tour was depressing and we were told constantly about all of the things that were destroyed in past hurricanes but never rebuilt.  There was a very nice park called Garden of the Groves that we toured. That was probably the highlight of that excursion.   Nassau was a much more lively port than Freeport.  There was alot of activity and plenty of shopping options.  Having been on 2 previous cruises, the excursions tend to all look the same after awhile so we chose to stay at the Hilton Colonial Resort and enjoy a private beach day.  It was a nice property with a food/drink voucher.  We walked about 3-4 blocks after we got out of the port area (it felt like much further than that in flip flops).  The Freedom was in good shape. We enjoyed the 2.0 upgrades of Guys' Burgers and Blue Iquana.  The pool areas were always very crowded and the slides are old and tired compared to the Magic.  If you are a first time cruiser, definitely start out on the Freedom and then work your way up from there.
