Review summary

I had s better experience than I expected. I had been on a Carnival cruise before and found that the passengers were there biggest drawback. There is a certain element that use this cruise line that lack a complete respect for the captain, officers and other cruiseline employees as well for the other passengers on the ship. They were still there in their jean shorts and tank tops even on formal night in the formal dining room and their screaming kids were there as they were never taught how to behave in a formal setting. But the Carnival employees did their best to relocate you away from these monster children as they did with about 6 tables of passengers in my case and in spite of the lack of decorum from the East Texas hick crowds, they still provide excellent menus and service. I will use again. Only I will ask in advance to be seated away from the under 3 crowd. If I am able to leave small children in order to enjoy a vacation they should be able to do the same. They should not be allowed to ruin everyone's dining experience. Most parents do not put a small child through this. They would simply go to the Lido deck where the child could scream to his hearts content. But not the special back woods people you find on Carnival. Fortunately they are only about 50% of the passengers on these ships.

This was one of the nicest cabins we have had with any cruiseline including those with balconies. The bathroom and closet space was amazing.

Ship tip

Great bargain and fantastic employees and ship. Only advice is to make sure they book your dining table away from small children. 3 out of 4 are well behaved but the one time you get stuck next to one that just screams non stop, it can ruin the whole trip for you.

I always say "When SHTF, you'll wish you knew some backwoods southern rednecks!!" You might learn to survive when you don't have cell phones or a fancy gps. Lol.

One thing you got right, we are SPECIAL PEOPLE!!

East Texas "hicks" wow!!! Where are you from? Prob one of those snobby, thinks their better than everyone else, leaving their kids at home with a nanny, liberal places. We east Texans take care of our own kids & want to take them on vaca with us. I guarantee I can out dress you any day. Bless your heart!! You have no idea what east Texas is like.

DFromATX    8 years ago

Don't insult Texans - especially when you are on a ship with 95% of us! I bring all 4 of my kids so take that lol! (I admit they are older tho and we all dress up for elegant night.) 😊

Wow. You are a complete prick and I'm glad I won't be seeing you on any of my future Carnival cruises.

@ Shanna Hoffman I have a grandson with autism and he gets to go at least once a year, and loves it, your son will have a blast, hopefully this will be the first of many, I would just ignore the rants of stuck up people like this, just have fun

I bet this person didn't confront any of the trash they speak of, or they might have had they're teeth nicked out of their ignorant head

makeda    8 years ago

There are many people who are fortunate enough to cruise any line they choose and still choose carnival

Agreed parents should teach children manner and how to behave in certain social settings.. but kagnn to blame Texans is stupid on your part ..but on formal night I do agree you should at least come somewhat dressed ..for many this night is a special time and if you dont wish to participate go to a different dinner venue..Im not saying you have to be dressed formal but leave the swimsuit/coverups and shorts attire for the pool not formal dining.

If people would just enjoy themselves and not pay attention to what other people are wearing or doing, they would have a more enjoyable time. Get your life!!

This man obviously thinks he's better than other people and probably leads a very lonely life with his bad attitude towards others. Shannahoffman, I hope you and your kids have a great time especially in the dinning room!

shannahoffman    8 years ago

* continued Fear and ignorance will not dictate where I take my children - who I am very strict on!! I would never intentionally allow my kids to disrupt another - all these "monsters" your refer too are people, the next generation !

shannahoffman    8 years ago

This was sad... 1) I'm going on my first cruise in 2017 2) I'm taking my children because I'm now a single mom 3) I have a son who has autism 4) I'm afraid of ocean but all my loved ones are going so I am bucking up 5) I'm from Texas 6) some kids have sensory issues and can be over stimulated by new things... This is why so many autism families stay home and miss out on so much - but NOT ME -

Children are not monsters, and please do not label people ,do not put them into categories. Are you more special than all the other vacationers? Shame on you.

tmylar    8 years ago

Just as long that you are happy and felt like you looked like great.just remember them kids are are life. they are the one's that will be taking care of us some day.everyone goes on vacation to have fun.life to short.maybe a different cruise line next time?

He must be 90 years old

I agree with the premise that people should be able to control their kids. As for the rest of your arrogant rant, you can kiss my educated, hard working, good time loving, east Texas, Carnival cruising kgann.

Katievp    8 years ago

You do sound like an arrogant jerk. However, I agree that parents should teach their kids how to behave in public. Don't exclude them. Ever. But instead teach them. Don't let them run wild just because it's vacation.

Some people!!

TNTGreen    8 years ago

Last time I checked Carnival is a family fun ship! KGann: you need to take your snobby vain butt to Princess Cruise. Jerk

MrsOneal    8 years ago

I agree bmac614. Some people need to get the stick out of their ass. My 4yr old is so excited about the cruise. Kids have every right to cruise just as adults do.

bmac614    8 years ago

And yes we took our 3 year old on the magic last September. We would Never exclude our children from family vacations. Who cares how people dress. They are all on vacation. If you want a more formal cruise, go princess or HA. That sounds more to your liking

bmac614    8 years ago

That has got to be the most ignorant, sad rant I have ever read on these boards. For someone to think that the ship should cater to a certain person is absurd. I would have pitty on you if you were a father. Kids have every right to cruise as adults.
