A great cruise length for relaxation!

Sail Date: December 01, 2013

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

We took this ship as a New Years Cruise so that we could enjoy warm weather in the caribbean during January!! It did not disappoint\, it was awesome to celebrate in the warm climate and the beautiful atmosphere of the ship in the midst of the stars and ocean.
The ship has a nice variety of activities and we thoroughly enjoyed the comedy shows. Staff is friendly\, most called us by name and made us feel very comfortable.

Pros: Staff was exceptional and activities were fun with a nice variety.

Cons: Food was mundane and standard

Recommends Carnival Freedom? Yes!

Ship Quality
Ship is very clean\, staff is quick to pick up a dirty plate and decor is very nice. My only observation was there were not enough garbage cans.
Food and Dining
Our party of 6\, plus friends of 11 more\, all had the same observation on the food. It truly was only \"okay\"...noting that the worst was breakfast. After waiting 15 minutes in an omelete line\, I had to spit my first bite into the napkin the flavor was awful!! Sausages were nothing more than cut up hot dogs and very little change from day to day at the breakfast buffet. Again at breakfast\, we tried the dining room and ordered a breakfast steak that has so much gristle\, I could barely cut it\, forget chewing it. At dinner\, we have one daughter who is a vegetarian and found that the vegetables were always prepared the same night after night. What about grilling or roasting?? The tofu steak tasted like rubber. For the meat eaters\, our food was just average also...the best was the pasta. Even the dessert was a disappointment.
Cabin / Stateroom
We could of used a few more hangers but I was able to find plenty of nooks to put our things away and keep our room organized.
Service and Staff
Very polite staff. Our housekeeper was very complimentary and would ask when we would be going on excursions or when we were going out so he wouldn't bother us while we were napping or ????.
Loved the comedy. Our daughter took part in the Legend's show and that was a highlight.
Children's Programs
Our 14 year attended Circle C and made the point to tell us that her counselor was more like a friend because she made things so fun!!
