Carnival Freedom Cruise Review to Caribbean - Western
Ship: Carnival Freedom
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Large Group
Reviewed: 8 years ago
We cruised with a group of ten people. The cruise director, Todd, did a remarkable job. Our staff in the formal dining room was great. The outdoor theater was good. The rooms and balconies were large. The ship was kept clean. But there were many negatives...
Even though we arrived at the port at about 11:30, the boarding process took over two hours. The ship had to re-issue everyone's fun passes 2-3 times during the cruise due to computer glitches. The food quality on the buffet was mediocre. Our room stewards never introduced themselves. Camp Carnival was a real bust for our 2 year old grandson. Missed the orientation and when we tried to get a tour, the Camp Carnival employee was very short and told us that we might be able to walk around for a minute or so. The room was filled with crying kids and the staff didn't seem to care. As a result, we kept our grandson out of Camp Carnival for all six days and entertained him ourselves. Carnival knew that he was registered and should have made some effort to provide a schedule of events for Camp Carnival. The ship's decor was really awful, no consistent theme, poor color choices, and not very pleasant to spend time in.
Pros: Great cruise director and formal dining staff
Cons: Camp Carnival
