Review summary

I have been on man cruises on varying cruise lines. This was my third time sailing with Carnival, and I have to say it was the best! The ship's newness was very apparent. The design, layout, cabin size, activities, etc. were excellent! For only having an interior cabin, it felt spacious in comparison to others I've stayed in in the past. I especially enjoyed Scott's Piano Bar (a very fun place!), Habana Cigar Lounge (relaxed atmosphere), and the casino. The food was excellent! The service was amazing! Our dinner waiters and cabin steward were extremely friendly and were consistently superb. The ports (Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten) were a blast! Being a younger couple with no children, we were at times annoyed with the kids on the ship. Being a Spring Break holiday week, there were quite a few - but, we expected it choosing Carnival. The only time it was an issue was by the pool. If you want to escape this as well, we found some more quiet areas to layout and enjoy the sun on the upper decks (Decks 13 and 14). Overall, it was an amazing trip! I have already recommended it to friends and family and will definitely be cruising again soon!

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
Arriving there in the late afternoon made it a little difficult to explore the city. Did some shopping, visited the brewery, and Barrachina (the restaurant the invented the Pina Colada).
Don't Miss: Barrachina

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Shopping on Front Street, with beach time on Back Street. If you want to see the most beautiful beaches of St. Maarten, the French side is the way to go. With the time limit though, you have to choose between shopping Phillipsburg and beaches and food of the French side, though.
Don't Miss: The entire island! Love it!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
St. Thomas is always a good time!
Don't Miss: Magen's Bay

Pros: Ship's design, newness

Cons: Too many kids
