Vacation from hell... but not because of Carnival! Really only got to see 1 port. by michsykes

Instead of being a cruise it felt like a nightmare. But kudos to Carnival for being so helpful in our medical emergency and afterward for following up not only when we were in hospital in St. Lucia but when we got back to US hospital as well.

Okay cruise by aliciabarnes21

Overall, the experience was nice. I think that when you give the initial greeting that, it should be clear as to the gratuities that will be charged on your card, how much and that it's perfect person, especially for first timers. I was disappointed that we dressed up to meet the Captain and he didn't show and his crew members just walked through and didn't socialize at all, didn't even say hello.

Southern Carribean Cruise by spoznan1

first time on Carnival...overall it was better than I thought it might be! The ship was very clean and in good repair overall. The food was good in Coconut Grove buffet lines as well as the Sensation Dining room, but breakfast in the Innovations dining room wasn't too good and the service there wasn't particularly friendly. I was disappointed that the last night (Sat night) didn't have a show or gala dinner...in fact there were only 2 entrees on the dining room menu that did not require a $20 upcharge and the 2 entrees were fish stew and coc a vin....neither of which appealed to any of the 5 adults in my group. The burger line (Guy Fieri) on Lido deck is awesome.

Great Cruise with Many Destinations by handinlardy04

No complaints for Carnival. We really enjoyed this cruise over our last, which had 3 travel days and 3 ports. This one had a new destination for everyday, which is something we loved. The only let down was that at the places where we snorkeled, there weren't any coral reefs. Have excursions planned for Dominica and St. Lucia definitely. There is not much to see on these islands near the port unless you are into the shopping atmosphere of third world countries and pushy taxi drivers and vendors. We lucked out on St. Lucia despite not having an excursion because we ran into a taxi driver who was a great tour guide and took us to scenic and historical sites for 1.5 hours for a good fee. His name is Felix Anthony at 1-758-486-9930. If you want to save money by not buying an excursion that day but still want to see as much as possible, give him a call when you disembark. The next time we go there, I think we will take an excursion to Soufriere because it is cheaper than using a taxi to there. Besides the Dominica the Easy Way and St. Kitts Kayak and Snorkel excursions, we took taxis every other island except St. Thomas, where we walked and looked. St. Kitts was our favorite island and you can easily get away with just walking around there with it being very nice, modern, and clean. On Barbados we took a taxi to Carlisle bay to swim and snorkel. If you can swim well, you can swim all the way out to where the sea turtles are and swim with them, which people pay extra for (but I didn't, he he he). On St. Maarten, we took a taxi to Maho beach to swim and watch the airplanes fly over head. Ask for Maria Rogers at 721-520-1594 there because she waited for us and gave good advice. I think if we did this again with flying into Puerto Rico a day early and leaving a day late to save on airfare, we will rent a car to save money. It cost us $25 each way to hotel, pier, hotel, and airport. Review your car insurance and booking credit card benefits to see if you have your insurance covered to save money.

Had a wonderful week on the Carnival Fascination. Staff members were really friendly. Weerayut was exceptional at cleaning our room and addressing our needs every day. He always was very personable and genuinely interested in making sure we were having a great day each day. Would have liked to see more shows in the evening, but overall great experience.

The cruise itself was great, the ship on the other hand is pretty out dated and needs to be retired. The staf was wonderful and overall it was a fantastic trip. Best ports of call i've been to so far.

The trip was great but we were not happy that our card was charged for drinks we did not have. They told us it was a mistake and it would be taken off the bill. It wasn’t and now we have to deal with the hassle of trying to get our money back. Not good! by KariDan

Had a great vacation but I was disappointed with being charged for 3 drinks we never ordered. We were alarmed with the fact that they don’t need to swipe your card to bill on your card and apparently one of the staff made a mistake and typed in our card to be charged for someone else’s drink order. We had to disembark early due to a 10am flight. We were not able to have breakfast as we had to wait on a very long line to speak to someone in guest services. They only had one person working there. After waiting in a long line for 45 minutes we were told that an email was sent and that the charges would be taken off the final bill. We were reassured that it would be resolved but it wasn’t. When we looked at our bank statement they never took off the 3 drinks we never ordered or had. It was very disappointing because now we have to go through the hassle of disputing the charges that were put on our card. Not something you want to have to deal with after coming back from vacation. That was very poor guest service and I don’t think I’ll ever trust putting my card on file again.

Wonderful destinations. Great Restaurant team and excellent cabin cleaning crew. by beechgirl

The cruise destinations were very good with one exception. The crew were on average good. The service crew were the best. The ship however need to step up their entertainment overall. The menu for the Lido Deck needs some overhauling because when passengers who return to the ship after 3 p.m. there is nothing but burgers, tacos or bread (pizza or sandwhich) to eat. This can only be acceptable to Carnival if they dont estimate that the passengers will come back to the ship famished. Going on a cruise is expensive and one have to save up for a year to afford this. It would be great if Carnival Fascination owners took this into account and make the cruise a bit more value for money. I also think you need a second swimming pool. REgarding the pictures (memorabilias) it would be nice if you had a group rate or just simply lower the cost of the pictures taken in the gallery so more persons would buy more pictures and the company could make more money. With that said, thank you for the wonderful stops/destinations you chose.

My most aggravating thing was the display on the TV that tracks the ship position. The symbol for the ship was so big, it sometimes covered 3 islands. Even zoomed in close, the map covered the entire Caribbean .

Good trip. The service was great! The food was mainly pretty good in the dining room. The dining room desserts were hit or miss. Breakfast on the Lido deck was fine. The lunch buffets were sadly lacking...most of the food was awful. Thank goodness there is the addition of Guy Fieri Burgers and the Blue Iguana Cantina.

Fun, port intensive cruise by pskwirut

Verified Review

This is a great itinerary, but it is busy! Only one at-sea day, so not a lot of down time. If you like to keep going, this is one to pick. The ship itself is smaller, so not as much going on, less variety, and less opulent than bigger ships, but it works on a port intensive cruise.

Awesome Cruise! by ctash321

My experience was pretty good. The menu and food does need some enhancements. My family was very disappointed in the menu at the restaurant and often rushed to eat at the buffet instead. The entertainment crew is absolutely wonderful! My children enjoyed the kids club. The ports of call had interesting things to do.

This was the first time we cruised with a group and it was awesome. I really appreciated the organization of the disembarkation. It was so much better than past cruises. The food choices could have been better.
