Fun Caribbean Family Cruise
Carnival Fascination Cruise Review to Caribbean - Southern
Review summaryWe just returned from the 7 night Caribbean cruise. Overall, the cruise was fun. We did excursions at St. Thomas (snorkeling with the turtles) and St. Maarten (bike ride), both of which were fantastic. We coordinated tours with locals for St. Lucia and St. Kitts, which worked out great. One of the downsides of St. Lucia is that the best attractions are quite far from the port. The cruise itself had fantastic daycare. Our child kept asking to go everyday, preferring the daycare to hanging out with the family! The food was okay -- we would have preferred fresher options and better tropical fruit options (e.g. guava, soursop, golden apple, local avocados, coconut, etc.). Most of the fruit was melons. The dinners were also okay. There were very few meals that were really amazing. The cruise decor was dated, but we knew that going in from pictures. The evening entertainment was enjoyable, but not something I would go out of my way to see. There were a good variety of activities, including comedy shows, song/dance shows, and others. There was a fun piano bar, karaoke, and many other options. Overall, we had a great time, but I think I might try another cruise ship for our next outing.
