Review summary

This was the worst cruise experience I have ever had.  I have taken over 20 cruises, mostly with Carnival or affiliates.   The room we upgraded too was so small we could barely move in it, as we had a scooter in there for my mother,  The cabin steward was very snippy, turned our air on high every day even though we asked her not to, she said it was too warm in there for her to work.  Asked for ice, said she was busy.  Went to two different talks and no one showed up to give them.  When we got someone to check why there was no one there, he never came back.  Our dinner captain turned us over to his assistant when he had less than a full table.   There were numerous incidents and I wanted this trip to be special as it was a gift to my mother for her 90th Birthday.

I detest auto correct and auto complete- it's "there", not "their", as you know...

Whenever you have any staff on ship (or anywhere) ignoring a simple request such as not adjusting the AC, not getting ice, or being snippy, get their name and go to their boss immediately. If they can't take care of it, go to the hotel manager, and calmly and politely explain the issue. It is better to get it resolve then, rather than to have a week (that you paid for) of irritation. I give the staff member a second chance, then go up their chain until it gets resolve. Courtesy on a cruisers part is important, but staff is their to help us enjoy our cruise, not debate with us. Act then, not live with it and complain later.

I would definitely suggest that you pay the slight up charge and book a handicapped cabin next time. We had an oceanview and would have been cramped with one more adult much less a scooter also. we had them arrange our two twins in a L shape which provided a lot more floor space. The cabins tend to be smaller in the older ships but pricing us great. The suites on Fascination cost the same as an oceanview on the newer ships and suites seemed to be pretty good sized.

Carnival will never see a review here since this is a independent website.

I would strongly suggest you send a letter to Carnival and try to list names if you can,  if not cabin # and dining table #.

lauralee12 I'm with you. I was on Fascination and wasn't all that pleased either. Nothing to write about but I hate that happened to you attitude314. I hope your mother was able to find some good. Now I know to ask lots of questions when they offer upgrades.

You could've gotten a handicapped room. They have a little more space to move around in.

Or maybe, just maybe she has some valid complaints. You do need to speak with Carnival directly and voice your experience.

Three in a room with a scooter, that would be cramped. Not the ships fault though, they make all sizes of rooms and post the square footage, you pay for the size you want. Sounds like you picked the wrong category. If the other complaints you shared is your worst experiences, you have been very lucky. I wouldn't have let that stuff bother me.

I am Diamond on Carnival and (over 50 cruises) and have never experienced anything like what you did. Call Carnival directly and make sure you provide names. Otherwise your post will be written off as someone working for a competing cruise line.
