Great last minute cruise

Sail Date: September 01, 2013

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

The Fascination was in great shape. It was clean and felt spacious. I believe the ship was full, but it never felt that way.

Pros: Relaxing in the sun

Cons: Smoking was allowed on board

Recommends Carnival Fascination? Yes!

Ship Quality
It's a little tricky to get around sometimes because of the atrium in the middle. Some of the elevators do not go all the way up, so you have to sometimes switch elevators depending on where you're going. The decor is kind of outdated, but again it was clean and comfortable.
Food and Dining
Dining room food was very good most nights. We were on late dining schedule and there were always empty spots at many tables. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
Cabin / Stateroom
We stayed in stateroom with picture window. The beds were very, very comfortable, as were the pillows. It was quiet and we slept better than we do at home. That was a big plus to me.
Service and Staff
Most people were super nice. There were a few bartenders who were not overly friendly, but in general most staff were happy and helpful.
Entertainment
Lots of repetition in the "big" shows. There were two big musical shows which they repeated all week. There were a couple of game shows hosted by the cruise director, but we felt the entertainment and activities on board lacking as compared to other cruises. We were looking for things to do at night but sometimes due to our dinner schedule we couldn't find anything interesting.
There were two comedians on board. We caught the adults only show and it was really funny.
