First Cruise Ever

Sail Date: December 10, 2011

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was made in 1994, and it definitely looks like it. It looked like being in an old, weird casino. But the crew were wonderful and super helpful. The food was good, but the drinking water was only good if you had a ton of ice with it, and the coffee on the lido deck was nasty (big bummer for me). My husband is more active, and this was not the cruise for him. Though they had a lot of things to do on the ship, none of them really appealed to him. Carnival definitely makes everyone, no matter how rich or poor you are, feel so special. It was nice to see people from all over and different walks of life be able to enjoy a nice vacation. For the price of the cruise, it was well worth it. If we cruise again, we would probably go on a different ship.

Pros: Food, the warm weather, the wait staff, port stops

Cons: coffee, drinking water, being pushed to buy more, not enough activities we enjoyed

Recommends Carnival Fascination? Yes!

Entertainment
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
You have to pay for soda and bottles of water, so bring your own. And if you want quality coffee, you have to pay for that too.
Cabin / Stateroom
They clean your room twice a day, which was great! We were towards the front of the ship, and our last day we both felt sea sick.
Service and Staff
The guy who was our main house keeping person for our section came right into our rooms when we weren't expecting it. That was weird, but he was so nice and was fun to talk to, so we didn't mind.
