Carnival Fascination / Bahamas

Sail Date: September 17, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

The staterooms were ok, but there was a funny smell throughout the ship. The ship is past its prime.

Pros: Ports of Call were fun places to be, beautiful. The staff was so friendly and hard-working.

Cons: Food was not good, and we got sick. Lots of smokers and loud people in the halls who woke us up nightly.

Recommends Carnival Fascination? No.

Ship Quality
Confusing layout. Outdated decor. Very small pool. Staterooms ok, though. Funny smell throughout ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
Bed was hard. The stateroom was ok and was kept clean.
Entertainment
There was not a 7:00 nightly show, just some nights. The performers were good the two times we did get to see a show.
Food and Dining
I thought some of the food was past its consumable date. We got sick. The main diningroom food was often served cold. The breakfast ham was poor quality - like mystery meat. There was a food spoilage smell in and immediately around the food service areas. There was no specialty dining room or steak house option.
Service and Staff
The ship staff was the best part of the cruise. They were friendly, knew our names, and worked SO hard. They did everything possible to please. Loved our amazing waiters and room cleaning staff. At least twice a day, our towels were refreshed, and the room was cleaned.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)
Beautiful, relaxing day on the beach. Loved the jet skiis.
Nassau, Bahamas
Must see the resort of Atlantis.
Don't Miss: Atlantis
