Review summary

Ship (Carnival Fascination) was great, clean, and up to date. Lot's of walking from cabin to destinations. Needs clearer floor plans so you can tell which decks go from fore to aft and which require detours to other levels. Very easy to get lost. Food was good but needed to be warmer. Crew very friendly and helpful. Great for families -- lots of kids activities, not so many adult activities -- I guess they needed to be with the kids! Not having kids with me, I would have liked more quiet spots and softer music. I'm not old, but planned to relax!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Dining room was lovely, menu selections very nice but the food was served warm, not hot. Great staff except the Maitre'd gave away our assigned table the last night -- we were forced to split up and we had a group with good chemistry, not fun!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Too many loud, roudy places. Lots of kareoke, loud music, crazy activities. Would be nice to have had one relaxing lounge with cabaret music or easy listening -- a place to relax and talk -- too noisy.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
I don't have kids, but there seemed to be plenty of things for the kids to do. There sure were a lot on board!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was cheerful, accommodating and gracious. The made everyone feel comfortable and treated us like they really cared.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Thank heaven for the Serenity deck -- an adult only area with padded deck chairs, hot tubs and a shower for cooling off. A bar would have made it perfect -- you had to go up a level to get a drink. A cool dipping pool would be a welcome addition.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Comfortable size, clean and well maintained. Large shower for a cruise ship. Plenty of closet/storage space. Great staff.

Ports of call

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
Garden of the Groves is beautiful and the area tour was interesting. 30 minutes to shop in Port Lucaya was not enough.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Lot's to do -- plenty (too much perhaps) shopping! Port is adjacent to shopping, you really have to make an effort to get away from that to see more of the island, the beaches and the local history.

Pros: Relaxing day at sea -- A+ for Serenity deck.

Cons: Very crowded -- lot's of kids
