Room Type: Balcony

This was our first family cruise, my wife and two teenage sons. If you can swing it get VIP rated it speeds up checking on to the ship and getting off on the last day. The grand suite we got was great you get a King size bed with a fold out couch for the boys and your own balcony with 3 deck chairs. The balcony comes in handy when you cant find any place to sit on the sun decks. Space goes quickly up there. Get the soda cards for everyone they are 25 dollars apiece but worth the money. Alcohol drinks run from 8-15 dollars apiece so budget for that if you are going to drink. This was a no cash cruise everything bought on the ship was charge to our room using our Sail and Sign account. Dress code for eating in the dining rooms didnt seem to be enforced on our cruise. We were told no shorts, swimsuits, or tank tops were to be worn there. Guess what we saw when we went there shorts, swimsuits, or tank tops. We did eat at the Lido deck for a lot of our meals it has a more relaxed atmosphere and the food is just as good as the dining rooms. Half moon Cay was nice but dont try to do 2 excursions at the same stop because you dont have time to enjoy yourself. At Nassau we did the Sea lion excursion thru (not offered by Carnival) and it was great. After we were done we headed for the beach they have there. One thing that turned out nice was all the photographers they have set up at night to take you pictures. My wife and I havent had our picture taken professionally in a long time and we found one that we really liked. The nice thing is you can get your picture taken as much as you want but only pay for the ones you like. Joe, our room steward, was the star of trip he couldnt do enough to make us comfortable. He was always there when we needed anything. At the end of trip you dont have to figure tips anymore they are already done for you and on you Sail and Sign account. Other than a couple of lack of communication issues it was a good time.

Pros: Pictires, entertainers, stops

Cons: sun deck
