Saw bad reviews about the decor of the ship....the decor was better than expected. No glaring problems, crew kept the ship clean, hallways clear, and always had a smile. Ship had more than enough planned activities to keep one busy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Buffet foods were sub par, not a lot of variety, bread was always hard. Water was horrible, tea was just as bad. Juice seemed fine. Main dining areas were nice. Food was good, had good variety, water was fresh, waiters and waitresses were always there when you needed them, best part of the cruise.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Entertainment and activities were great, always something to do.Basketball hoop would have been nice. Free movies, tv never lost reception. My beef is they had 3 channels for CNN, but non for Foxnews. Would have liked a little different news stories than the same old same old for 4 days.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was helpful, friendly, and ready to please. Fabulous crew, nothing bad to say about them.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Everything was well marked, hard to get lost. Ship was clean, and crew worked hard to keep it that way.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Wished they had queen bed instead of 2 doubles pushed together. Bigger tv would have been a plus, but was good enough. Room was always clean. Wish they would keep smoking rooms and non smoking seperate. We are non smokers, but could tell the previous occupants were not.
Not worth your time. The port is also a service port, tugboats, silos, container ships, noise, etc, not pretty at all. Had to take a taxi 15 minutes to the "city", hard to find a clean beach. Island was ravaged by a hurricane 6 years ago, not much done to fix it up. Torn up buildings, trees a mess, broken down cars. Save your time and stay on the ship.
Very nice. Went to Cabbage beach, free beach with publc access. Water was beautiful, peddlers left you alone for the most part, alot of beach to walk up and down. Very nice.
