Great Experience

Sail Date: August 03, 2009

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

We had great experience in our first cruise.
The food was the highlight. The room stateroom) was nice and very well maintained.
All in all I would go on cruise with carnival again.

Pros: Quality of food, service

Cons: Drinking water was not very good. We ended up spending money buying bottled watter. ($4 per bottle)

Recommends Carnival Fascination? Yes!

Ship Quality
Medium size cruise ship. In good condition. Some public areas were closed due to cleaning/ repair. They have three elevator zones but were busy. The decks were clean and very well maintained otherwise.
Pool was too crowded. They should have separate kids and adult areas in the pool section.
Food and Dining
Excellent! The dine-in was beyond expectations. The buffet areas were crowded. If there is anything they can improve in dining area is supply good quality drinking water.
Cabin / Stateroom
Very good. Comfortable beds, TV, decent sized bathroom and in-room safe box.
Service and Staff
Staff was very friendly, always smiling and willing to help.
Key West, Florida
Decent town. You can walk around or rent scooter or golf cart. The place has character.
Don't Miss: walk around and shopping. There is a nice museum across from the pier.
Nassau, Bahamas
We took historic tour of the Nassau. This is a complete waste of money. ($29/person). The tour guide was not interested and there was not much to show. Their main attraction was a water tank that supplies water to Nassau. We have a larger one in our subdivision. Nassau is the most hyped place. Beaches in Florida panhandle (Ft Walton/ Destin) are far more nicer. We did not go to the Atlantis which was recommended.
Don't Miss: Straw market, if you like bargain shopping.
