Getting on the ship was a nightmare, not only for the passenger but for staff as well. Carnivals "fix" to the problem was taking tip money away from their staff and give us the difference in port fees, a whooping 8.79 dollars for messing up our first two days. We did not get to go to Cozumel and swim with dolphins like we paid for, we went to Progresso. We did go to a private beach club that cost about the same as the dolphin swim we paid for in Cozumel, it was okay but not what we planned. We paid extra for a ocean-view room that you could not see out the windows well. There was nothing to do for kids under 2 and my older child did not like the kids club. Overall it was okay. We will pick another cruise line next time.
Embarkation

The ship got in late and we could not board until after 8:30. Carnival stopped sending updates about the boarding time at 2pm, So everyone tried to go to the garage at 7:30 like the last update said. Mobile cops turned us away and told us to come back at 8:30pm, I feel like carnival should have said something as far as the new time. It made the interstate really congested and dangerous, I still am not happy that there was barely any compensation for the first day and it was not fair to the staff that it was their tips taken from them because they still had to work for the people on the ship. We had to pay for dinning out, gas for driving around while trying to get parked a few times because carnival stopped giving updates, and a whole day parking which we did not get. Once we finally got on the ship, I had to wake my sleeping baby to go the safety meeting then since we did not get in bed until after 12am we slept most of the morning the next day. So the first night and the next morning was ruined. We also had a dolphin swim paid for at Cozumel that we did not get to do since we went to Progresso instead. I just stinks that the CUSTOMER and STAFF had to take all of the disadvantages so carnival did not have too. I probably will not be cruising with Carnival again.

Food and staff were great!
Onboard Activities

nothing to do for kids under 2, or as a family with kids under 2.
Pools were tiny, the water on the pool and slide were cold, it'a 2018 pools can be heated now.
the hot tubs were packed like a can of sardines.

Children's Programs

All the kids that went with us did not like it. It should be exciting for them not like just playing card games or coloring.
Service and Staff

loved talking to the staff! they were always nice and friendly even though they had a VERY long night.
Ship Quality

windows were so dirty on the outside/ moisture in the middle you could not see out them well or get good pictures. kind of defeats the purpose of paying extra for a window.
Cabin / Stateroom

The bed that comes out of the wall was very noisy.
Oh great ... well hope I have a better experience I cruising fantasy March first. Can you tell us what the reason for not going to conzumel was ??? How was good ? And why was it so boring ?
I called Carnival on our way home from the cruise and shared these exact sentiments and was told this was what their management decided to provide for their customers...I will NEVER cruise on Carnival again.
