Family Fun Weekend

Sail Date: September 30, 2016

Reviewed: 1 month ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Suite

It's an older, smaller ship - but for a young family of 5 it was a perfect short cruise with plenty of things to do and see to fill the time.  Camp Carnival was great for the kids and all the Dr. Seuss activities were very enjoyable.  The staff is really exception from the rooms to the bar to the dining area.  Carnival clearly does great training and sets an expectation of top-notch service.

Cabin / Stateroom
The only room type available that will accommodate a family of five the room really works out well. The king sized bed, plus pull out sofa, and a roll away comfortably fit and allowed good sleep for all. (We have children ages 5, 4, and 2). The balcony was nice to enjoy the views of pulling into port, checking out other cruise ships, and enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning.

We walked from the ship to Junkanoo beach which was perfect for the kids to enjoy some sun, sand, and surf. A stroller would be a good idea if the kids won't walk the whole way because it is a little bit of a walk.

Tip

With a young family, we were off schedule from most people - early to bed, up and out early etc. Due to this, our meal times were uncrowded and we never had to wait more than a few minutes to get anything from pizza, to Guy's Burgers, to main line buffet. We really enjoyed it.
