Great first time cruise with kids. Read below. Everyone aimed to please. Very attentive. Staff are from all over the world.  Nice to see that everyone always have a smile despite of their long hours of work.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We signed up for the "anytime" dinner time which was scheduled at the Celebration Dining Room which means you may come whenever you want and you may have the same wait staff or not. We were fortunate enough to have the same seats and staff for three days: Arnawa (Indo), Angela (Phil), and Made (Indo) were a power team. They were courteous, attentive, fast and just plain wonderful. They were truly the highlight of the entire trip. They made us feel like royals that on our last dinner we were all a little melancholy. Carnival did really on good on this one. We were disappointed to find that lobster were not offered on this trip.

Entertainment

We missed a lot of the shows but we caught a few of the musicians from piano bar and the Motown band and they were great! The auction was an interesting experience but the prices were overwhelming. Definitely come with a lot of enthusiasm as you get a prize for that.

Children's Programs

On July 4th, our first day, at 10pm, my intention was to leave my son at the late night camp which required $ so that we can enjoy the night life. The ladies (wearing Cat in a Hat attires) there were not welcoming at all. And I wanted my son to peruse the environment real quick and right away he was scolded that he "cannot touch" the toys. Right away, my son as if he did something wrong and was discouraged. He ran back to me and refused to return to the camp for the rest of the trip. He cried and pleaded. As a result, we missed all of the adult only, fun things to do in the ship. Perhaps they were having a rough first day, but my child was on vacation as well and everyone should be treated kindly regardless of any circumstances.

Ship Quality

This is an older ship. Lots of beautiful art. Nice and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
As expected, the cabin was small. Traveling with 3, we were pleasantly surprised when we saw a third bed suspended against the wall. My son saw the bunk bed and was completely elated! Some floor panels moved and made noise that kinda startled us during the first few days. Other than that the closet space were as expected. Lots of life jackets on one side. Towels, soaps, shampoo were well stocked. Nice view of the ocean. It was cleaned like 2 to 3 times a day.

Ship Tip

Carnival Fantasy is not as big nor does it have a lot of the high tech amenities as some of the newer ships. Its perfect for first timers. The length of the trip is just right. The waterpark is perfect for kids. Cozumel is beautiful. Definitely do the excursion. Food is excellent. No lobster.
