The Fantasy is not a new ship. That being said\, I must say it has been very well-maintained. She shows a little wear and tear in some areas\, but overall\, Carnival has done an excellent job of refurbishing the interior to make the Fantasy not wear her age.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
No complaints about the food. There was plenty of food available at all times\, and the quality was excellent overall. My Caesar salad at dinner was not up to my standards; otherwise\, everything was great. The chocolate melting cake is to die for.

Activities were excellent; always something to do. This cruise is excellent for anyone\, whether you want privacy or want to join in the fun. Lots of planned activities (games\, bingo\, trivia contests\, karaoke\, etc.) Only complaint: there are two hot tubs - would rather see one hot tub and the pool enlarged\, as the pool was always too crowded.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Can't say enough about the wonderful staff. Always helpful\, gracious\, friendly and accommodating to our every need. Anticipated our needs every time before we could even ask. The waiters and maitre'd (Ahment) in the Jubilee dining room were wonderful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Size was just right for a first-time cruiser. By the 5th day\, we were just beginning to remember what was on each level\, without having to look at the ship's map each time we left our stateroom. Overall\, the public areas were kept very clean\, the only exception being the pool restroom\, which sees a great deal of use.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was kept in immaculate condition at all times. Plenty of clean towels at all times\, turndown service nightly\, and always a new towel sculpture on our bed. Allan\, our steward\, was so accommodating and gracious. Our king-size bed was so comfortable\, much better than 95% of the hotel beds I've slept in. Don't know if it was the bed or the gentle motion of the ship\, but I slept like a baby.

Pros: Friendly crew; there was always something entertaining going on.

Cons: Embarkation/Debarkation process a little bit tiring.
