Carnival Fantasy Cruise Review to Caribbean - Bahamas

Review SummaryThis was our seventeenth cruise\, forth on Carnival\, but it's been a few years since the last one. We chose this one primarily because it was the only one practical to drive to. We took the FTTF option in order to be assured of having our bags in the cabin when we boarded\, and to be among the first off the ship at Half Moon Cay\, one of our past favorite ports. We arrived by shuttle from the hotel at about 10:30 and then after dropping off our bags\, had to sit on the bus for an hour while the ship was still being cleared by customs.
The food was good; both in the Celebration dining room and the buffets (the potato salad was fantastic). Everything was clean & neat. The ship appeared to be in good condition.
All of the personnel that we came in contact with were very professional. Good attitudes\, helpful\, courteous\, and friendly. The Celebration dining room staff (particularly Andrew) were very good\, as were the bar tenders and wait staff. Some of the bars were sometimes under-staffed and it took a while to place an order. Drinks are extremely over-priced and they add a 15% tip on top. Most of the cruise lines have gotten ridiculous in their drink and water pricing. Our bar bill was as much as one of our fares.
Our cabin steward was great.
We wanted to sit by the pool and read\, but the noise level was unbelievable. Most of it was an irritating\, repetitive electronic \"music\" being blasted all over the area at least 150 decibels. We couldn't concentrate to read & I got a headache from it even after stuffing tissue in my ears. When we got to Half Moon Cay\, they had the same obnoxious noise being blasted all over the beach. We heard a lot of complaints about it. There is very little shade on the beach. Grand Turk was our best day\, although we only had about 5 hours off the ship. We went to Jack's Shack where the Turk's Head beer is about half what it is at Margaritaville. We did go to Margaritaville for about an hour before we went back to the ship.
