Carnival Fantasy 11/15/2014

Sail Date: November 15, 2014

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Oceanview

I have been on 25 Carnival cruises, and this by far was my least favorite. Embarkation and debarkation at the Port of Charleston is painstaking compared to Port Canaveral, Ft Lauderdale or Miami. Stood outside in the freezing cold for about 1 hour, then sat on a bus for about another hour until the ship was ready for boarding. The 'terminal' is very small and does not lend itself to the number of passengers boarding the ship. The Fantasy itself was very clean and easy to navigate.  The food was bland, Lido salad bar was very limited and had same items every day. Main Dining room service at times was slow. The majority of the crew appeared to be in the 'training' mode. While there weren't a lot of kids on the ship, those that were thought that constantly running up and down the public walkways was their entertainment. No security to discipline. Only 1 pool, very, very crowded on sea days. Nightly entertainment lacked the high quality that some of the bigger ships have. The trivia team, Jessica, Michael, Alan and Sunny were the hi-light.  Very funny and actually acted like they really enjoyed what they were doing.  The length of stay on Turks and Caicos was way too short. Half Moon Cay is a beautiful island stop. Nassau, in my opinion, is not worth visiting. Why stop at a port that warrants alerting passengers about crime, and safety and how to avoid?  Would rather stay longer on Turks and Caicos and Half Moon Cay, and skip Nassau altogether. I realize this review is mostly negative, but as I stated 24 out of 25 of my previous Carnival cruises were 100% better, and I do have 4 more Carnival cruises already booked for 2015.

Turks and Caicos and Half Moon Cay well worth it, Nassau not so much.

Very clean, no floor length mirror, no hair dryer.

Tip

If you use a hair dryer, take one, none in the staterooms.
