If you're in Virginia, there aren't many summer cruises to pick from on the east coast unless you want to fly. We went on a 25th Anniversary and drove to Charleston, which wasn't a bad drive. The Fantasy was an older ship, but in very, very well maintained condition and just small enough that you didn't spend your vacation trying to find your way around. Cabins, halls, decks--everything was as clean as any other ship I've been on. The price was good and the five days went by quickly. We got the Cheers Beverage Plan--a must do if you're concerned about how many drinks at $8.75 you're going to have. The food was good, service was excellent and this is a great deal if you live within driving distance of Charleston. If you can get to Charleston the day before, see the town and spend the night, it's better still.

Food and Dining

Food was very good, no complaints. The Grill on Ledo Deck needs to rethink its serving procedure, long lines everyday for lunch.

It was an older ship, but in excellent condition.

Cabin / Stateroom

It was very hard to regulate the water in the shower. Plenty and I mean plenty of hot water.

Carnival handled their part of debarkation fine, but the guys running the Terminal seemed like rookies. It was the most disorganized friendliest bunch of guys I've ever seen. They need to go to other ports and see how it's done.
