Great Cruise!

Sail Date: August 26, 2012

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Inside

This was our first time sailing on Carnival Fantasy and we loved every minute of it! Since it is an older ship, it has the feel of a comfy couch. As soon as we stepped onboard, we felt comfortable & welcome.

Pros: The shows & activities

Cons: Smoking

Recommends Carnival Fantasy? Yes!

Ship Quality
Fantasy is a small ship & easily navigated. We didnt have any trouble finding our way around. The decor is a little outdated but somehow it is appropriate. The restrooms in public areas could use more attention as there were several occasions that we found them in disaray & not well stocked. This was a recurring issue in many areas of the ship.
Food and Dining
The food itself was good but not extraordinary. We were impressed wth the variety of daily menu options & very pleased to see a vegetarian option offered at every meal. The dining room was spacious & clean. We chose Your-Time Seating and were very pleased. We were seated & served in a timely manner no matter the volume of people.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had an interior stateroom which was more spacious than we anticipated. There was even a curtain hanging to give the illusion of a window which we found quite amusing. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows!
Service and Staff
This ship's crew was spectacular! They really made our trip wonderful! The cruise director, Matt, was very entertaining. We attended several shows that he was hosting & had a blast!! We were sorry to learn the our trip would be his last on the Fantasy. Our pool deck bar waiter, Guillermo & Forum lounge server, Savio were TOP NOTCH remembering our names & drink preferences throughout the entire trip! Eugene, the bartender at the bar outside the casino was also a favorite! Our cabin steward, Ryan, was extremely friendly & efficient as well!
We attended several shows, played bingo, sang karaoke & participated in several rounds of trivia while on the ship! There is good variety of activities to keep you busy & interested. Our favorite was the Marriage Show! Our least favorite was The Beatles Tribute Show.
