Disappointing Trip

Sail Date: December 24, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

Of the 2400 passengers on this ship, they announced that 1,000 of them were children. They were NOT well behaved children--running and shouting in hallways, on stairways, in eating area, slamming cabin doors, etc. Service in dining area was the worst that we have experienced in our 10 cruises. Cabin service was also less than excellent. A new rule implemented was clearing customs in Key West which took 3 hours of everyone standing in line before anyone could leave the ship for the port. When people complained about the disorganization of the process, staff attitudes were very uncaring at best. We have been on 3 Carnival Cruises, 1 Holland Cruise, 2 Royal Caribbean, and 4 Celebrity. Celebrity is by far the best. This will be our last Carnival experience.

Pros: Food was good; debarkation was easy

Cons: service was poor; way too many unruly children

Recommends Carnival Fantasy? No.

Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
Typical cruise cabin
Food and Dining
Food was good but service very slow.
Service and Staff
Not enough employees to service number of passengers, which is obviously why service was slow in every area--bars, restaurant, lido cafeteria. Employees did not smile and did not appear to want to be there.
