We should have stayed home in the snow.

Sail Date: January 01, 2010

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The ship was quite aged and the deteriorated. Hand railings ranged from moderately loose to falling off. The age was highlighted by the dirt, grime, and lack of maintenance. The bed was broken upon our arrival and broke several more times during our trip. No effort was made to truly fix the bed, just treat the symptoms and hope it held together. Mid cruise I had to repair our shower head. I dropped a ring and had to look under the bed for it. I found food scraps and fuel receipts that were dated August 2009. Truly disgusting that the stateroom had not had a thorough cleaning in at least five months.

Pros: Housekeeping was nice.

Cons: All other staff and crew were rude.

Recommends Carnival Fantasy? No.

Food and Dining
During our cruise we met two employees associated with food service that were not rude. All others worked diligently at ruining our experience.
Service and Staff
Rude. Condescending. Arrogant.
Ship Quality
Size and layout worked well. The condition and cleanliness were severely lacking.
Cabin / Stateroom
The broken bed kept this category from scoring higher. The layout and functionality of the stateroom was nice. I'm sure if the frame had been in working order that the bed would have been pleasant to sleep on.
Entertainment
The "Adult Only" deck closed long before most inside activities ceased for the evening. The staff could not even wait until the posted closing times to rush people off the deck so they could drain the hot tubs and put chair cushions away.
