5 Night Western Caribbean (New Orleans Roundtrip)
Sail Date: February 09, 2008
Ship: Carnival Fantasy
Cabin Type: Oceanview
Traveled As: Couple
Reviewed: 9 years ago
We had been on Carnival 10-15 years ago and had avoided the line since. We were pleasantly surprised that it seemed more on par with our choice lines this time. The service was good, crew was friendly.

Food and Dining

Food good. Staff friendly. Bar service girl very good.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
A rating of average because they were just what we normally would expect on a cruise. We have been spoiled by another cruise line with top name entertainers.

Service and Staff

We only saw our room steward the day we came on board. He never seemed to be available on sight. Nothing important, but a couple of times would have liked to ask a question. Our dinner table waiters were very friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Not enough balconies. Flow seemed cut up--not free flowing. Had to go around a lot to get to areas on same floor.

Cabin / Stateroom

This ship did not have refrigerator and had small drawers for storage. Did not unpack, just hung clothes and left rest in suitcase.

Great shopping port.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling is great here. Has great reefs.

Uxmal is one of the remaining ruins that may be thoroughly gone through. You may climb the pyramids and go through the buildings. We had great guides that were easy to understand and gave history background.

Pros: Great food

Cons: getting on and off ship
