Review summary

This was a very enjoyable and relaxing cruise for us.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
We received an email stating embarkation had been delayed an hour, and to arrive an hour after our scheduled check-in appointment. When we arrived at hour late, we were put in the 'late arrival' line. We had to tell them about receiving the email. All the confusion delayed us even more. Afterwards, once onboard, sail away was late. None of the employees knew what was going on. A 4pm sailaway, turned into 5:45pm, and we were almost late to dinner as we wanted to watch the sailaway and watch the ship sail under the Jacksonville bridge.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Most of the food was excellent. Only complaint was some of the desserts were very dry.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We were mostly relaxing, but we enjoyed the ping pong tables, putt-putt, and open decks.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
We were not impressed with the Welcome Aboard Show and chose not to go to the shows on the other nights. The comedy shows were very entertaining and enjoyable. The cruise director was very lacking in the personality department. He would walk right next to guests without any sort of greeting, not even a polite smile. When he was greeted it was usually returned with just a "hey buddy".

Children's Programs

We didn't take our children along for this trip.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Most of the staff we encountered we're very polite, well spoke, and very accommodating. We didn't have a bad experience with anyone, just would have maybe enjoyed more personable bartenders as none seemed to want to converse with guests much.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was always extremely clean. There were employees constantly cleaning the glass, vacuuming, shampooing carpet, and such. If they seen you were finished eating on the lido they were quick about clearing the tables.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin size was great, exactly what we expected. We love getting porthole rooms. Beds/pillows were very comfortable, but beds didn't seem to stay together as well as they normally do when you request them as a king. Our only complaint was it was louder than usual in this room since it was closest to the front of the ship.

Ship tip

Enjoy the sun deck. There was hardly anyone ever up there.

Ports of call

Jacksonville, Florida

4 out of 5
We only experienced the cruise terminal and the closest Walmart and Target.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

4 out of 5
I love that they've built a little shopping area right as you get off the ship. It gives you something to do without taxiing into Lycaya. We did not do an excursion as we wanted to enjoy a less-crowded ship. We walked around the shopping area for about an hour. The merchants were the least pushy we've ever encountered which was very nice.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We did a walking tour including Government Square, the Queen's Staircase, Fort Fincastle, down Bay Street, the Columbus Statue, John Watlins Distillery, and the strawv market. It was a very nice well paced day. Merchants here were much more pushy than at Freeport the previous day. We were done within a couple hours and still back on the ship early enough to enjoy it while many others were still in the port.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
This was the worst disembarking we've ever experienced. We waited as instructed to get in line when they called our deck. We stood in line for over 2.5 hours. Extremely disorganized and a mess.
