Cruise overall was great! My husband and I are just not sure we would cruise on this particular ship and/or even cruise line again.

Pros: Steward/Cleaning crew, relaxation of cruise

Cons: Service of most of the employees (exception listed above)

Recommends Carnival Elation? No.

Ship Quality
I am not sure about all cruises as this was my first, but the elevator wait times were horrible. A lot of people would wait a really long time then finally choose to use the stairs. We brought our 3 kids and taking the stairs is hard to do. The ship was very clean in regards to public areas, nice decor, and size. Layout was slightly odd as you had to really pay attention to what elevators you took because some elevators did not go to all the floors
Food and Dining
Assigned dining/seating - we only went twice on our 5 day cruise because the service was so bad. You always hear about all the food being available all of the time but there was a lot of time limitations. The kids did not like a lot of the food either, so we had to become very creative.
Cabin / Stateroom
We slightly apprehensive regarding 5 people being in the same stateroom as we had heard they were very small rooms. However it worked out great...3 twin beds on the floor and 2 fold down twin beds on the walls.
Service and Staff
Steward/Cleaning service -- AWESOME; Food service in regular areas -- very poor, never smiled, very curt; Wait staff in lounge -- took over 20 min to get out drinks, that were free unsure if this was why. When we complained we were brushed off; I actually fell down one flight of stairs in front of several Carnival employees - no one said a word OR checked to see if I was okay. I went down to medical the next day to have my ankle looked at because it was extremely swollen and the medical officer glanced at it, said you have a bad sprain. if I have to do a full exam it will cost you money
Activities were numerous but very specific to drinking for the most part and the adult only things were VERY late at night and their camp for kids you had to pay if they stayed after 9-930 at night. most of the shows started around 930-1000
Children's Programs
Great overall, especially camp carnival as it gave the kids structured things to do when they got bored. I wish they would have pools for the kids with lower water levels as my kids are still uncomfortable at water heights above their head
