For it's age, a nice, well-appointed boat.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Contrary to others, we enjoy the food. While there has been obvious cutting down of the selections in terms of cost, the quality is good and we were glad to see the quantity of food served seemed to be less than we are accustomed on Carnival. This was very good to see as we hate to see waste. One can ALWAYS ask for anything you want and get it easily.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Very sparse shows and lowest quality I've encountered on Carnival. And the Carnival move to nearly an "all disco/dj" music venue is not understandable. I have to think that there are many many 2 or 3 person music acts that would jump at the chance to entertain on a cruise ship. The blaring rock music as the only entertainment is not my cup o' tea.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
WIth "our time" dining, had a different serving staff every night. Despite that, we were treated fine by dining staff. Stateroom staff did perfectly, even to the point of finding us a bucket and ice for our arrival champagne as well as filling the bucket every evening. Spotless, perfect room maintenance each day in the typical "invisible" fashion.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
As usual for Carnival, hard to find your way around. But we are used to that. Also as usual, it is gaudy - but that does not bother us. Kept very clean. Overall, a well-kept ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Smallest stateroom we have ever had on Carnival. We had Oceanview but could not get at the window as the bed had to be pushed up against it. Also, we have always had things like flat screen tv and hair dryer. Not here - due to age, I'm sure. Not a big deal, but I'm used to more on Carnival.

Pros: Places to unwind

Cons: Like all Carnival cruises, too much "party" and not enough "mature" focus

Recommends Carnival Elation? Yes!
